Frequently Asked Questions

We know that the decision to hire professional musicians to play for your event is a big one and can take up a big part of your budget. We therefore appreciate that you will want to be absolutely sure about what you're getting from AJU if you wanted to book us.

Below is a set of FAQ's that we get asked all the time. Hopefully they help!

How many players in the band?

We have five, six, seven and eight piece band which are all perfect for evening entertainment. Our five piece band is probably the better option for a drinks reception but equally, why not consider having a mini big band playing an hour or so of swing music for your drinks reception?

What are the line ups?

AJU5 – Vocals, keys, bass, drums and saxes/clarinet

AJU6 – Vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums and sax

AJU7 – Vocals, keys, bass, drums, sax, trumpet and trombone

AJU8 – Vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums, sax, trumpet and trombone

How long do you play for?

We tend to play up to two, one hour sets for evening functions.

For afternoon drinks receptions, we will play up to an hour and a half straight.

We love swing and jazz music but do you play different styles too?

Absolutely! Hopefully across our website you will have seen our repertoire and some example set lists. They show off our repertoire of around 200 songs and within that, we have a huge range of soul, Motown and more modern tunes. At weddings in particular, whilst you may be a huge fan of swing music, we recommend considering us playing a balanced range of all styles to appeal to all the generations and musical tastes at your celebration.

Do you do a disco too?

We can play recorded music (disco style) before we start, during our break and for up to half an hour after we’ve finished as standard included in our price. If you want a disco for longer, we can do this for you for a small hourly rate. It’ll still save you hiring a separate DJ just for this period of time.

Do you provide your own equipment?

Yes. We provide all of our own superb sound and lighting rig ensuring that our set up and your dance floor looks and sounds awesome. For larger spaces and events, we may recommend hiring in extra staging, sound and light.

Do you play the first dance?

Yes. We can play your first dance. It can be a song from our huge repertoire included in our standard cost. If you wish to request something that we don’t have on our repertoire list, we can arrange this music and rehearse it for an extra small cost.

Do you do requests?

Same as for the first dance. We’re really happy to learn something new but we would need to have the arrangement and rehearsal covered in the cost. If there’s songs in our repertoire that you really want us to play, it goes without saying, yes!

Will you travel?

We are willing to travel anywhere to play for you! Our standard cost covers anywhere within 40 miles. An extra travel cost will be incurred if further afield.

Where else can we see you play?

We’re playing all across the south west and beyond over the next couple of years. Whilst a lot of our gigs are private functions, we are playing at Ocean in Exmouth once a month and we have many other public gigs we’re playing at. Check out our gig list on our website.

Can we find you elsewhere online?

Yes. We have very active Facebook and Instagram channels. Search for @alljazzedupband

How far in advance should we book you?

Whilst we still have some limited availability for 2023 and 2024, bookings are coming in thick and fast post COVID, so don’t hesitate.

How do we secure a booking with you?

We consider a booking secured upon receipt of a completed booking contract and 25% deposit.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates?

Yes. We know that many venues require this so we annually renew our Portable Appliance Testing certificate and Public Liability Insurance. We have cover of up to £2m.

All Jazzed Up Biography

All Jazzed Up are made up of some of the best musicians the South West has to offer and can tailor the look and sound of the band to meet the needs of the event it plays at.

The five to eight piece band consisting of vocals, keys, guitar, double bass, drums, trumpet, sax clarinet and trombone can been seen providing music at weddings, corporate events, charity fundraisers and birthday parties. Playing at many festivals including a number of headlining spots, entertaining the party goers at company Christmas do's and even more intimate such as garden parties.

For smaller events, AJU can go out as smaller outfit removing the brass section or even just as a vocalist and keyboard. We will tailor our look and sound to meet the needs of your event. We really love playing for events such as wedding drinks receptions for example where we can provide smooth background music whilst the bride, groom and their guests have photos.

In January 2017, we began hosting an extremely successful weekly jazz night at Ocean in Exmouth where we have been since January and we still continue this event in 2023. The event attracts between 100-200 every week.
